Bengaluru International Airport/BLR
Kempegowda International Airport (BIAL), which handles both domestic and international operations, is about 32 kms from the IAS Guest House, Jalahalli.

Most of the KIAS (Airport Shuttles) buses go to Mekhri Circle. Take 270, 270-A or 270-S to HMT Shopping Complex (~1km) [Frequency: ~30min].
Or take KIAS-10 to Tata Institute and take 273-C from there to ISRO Quarters Jalahalli (~350m) [Frequency: ~1-2 hours]
From the Railways
Prepaid taxis/autos can be availed from all the railway stations.
Yeshwanthpur Railway Station/YPR (~8km)
YPR is walkable distance from the Yeshwantpur Metro Station (Green Line).

Bangalore City Railway Station/SBC (~12km)
Also called the Krantivira Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station, it is the main railway station in Bengaluru and is at a walkable distance from Kempegowda Bus Station (Majestic), and the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Metro Station, Majestic (Green Line)
Take the Green Line Metro towards Nagasandra and get down at Peenya (near National Institute of Design) [Frequency: ~15 minutes][~Rs. 15 - 30]. You may take an auto/cab from here, to the destination [~2.5km][~Rs. 30/50].
From the Bus Terminus
Kempegowda Bus Station
Commonly known as Majestic, it is about 13 km from the IAS Guest House.
- Cab: Ola/Uber [Rs. 200 - 400]
- Bus: [~Rs. 30] Take 275-C [Frequency: 1-2 hours] to the closest bus stop to the destination, ISRO Quarters Jalahalli (~350m).
Another nearby bus stop is HMT Shopping Complex or HMT Watch Factory (~1km). Take 273, 273-B, 273-C, 273-E, 273-F etc. from Majestic to this stop [Frequency: ~15 minutes].
Accomodation is provided at the IAS Guest House or the Academy Fellows Residency. The volunteers may refer to this guest house as Jalahalli Guest House as well.
Accommodation is provided to only the registrants who have opted and paid for the facility.
The accommodation charges are 500 Rs. per person, per night. Each room is shared by three guests. On arrival, your key will be provided to you at the reception desk, after the validation of your Official ID Card. Whenever you leave the premises, return the key to the reception.
There is no marketplace within 2 km radius of your stay. However some daily commodities are available in a shop inside the ISRO Quarters (adjacent to the guest house).
Breakfast and Dinner will be provided on all days of the Summer School to only those participants who avail accomodation facility.
Transport for travel between Accommodation and Venue: A bus will shuttle daily between the Jalahalli Guest House and IISc. The bus will depart from the Guest House at 7 AM (16th July) and 8 AM (17th-20th). The bus will depart from IISc at 9:30 PM. Please ensure that you are on time if you wish to take the bus. Local transport between the guest house and IISc is limited and infrequent.
