IEEE Nanotechnology Summer School 2018
CeNSE, IISc Bangalore | 16 - 20 July 2018
The IISc IEEE Nanotech Summer School 2018, organized by the IEEE NC-SC Joint Student Chapter, will provide a platform for rendezvous with the stalwarts in various specializations in the field of nanotechnology and hands-on experience of the state-of-the art nano-fabrication and characterization facilities at CeNSE.
The Summer School is centered around five distinct aspects of nanotechnology:
- Nano Electro Mechanical Systems (NEMS)
The talks are designed to provide the participants with a flavor of the recent advancements and ongoing research in each of these areas and to motivate them to pursue research as a career. Furthermore, with an aim to bridge the research-industry gap, the program schedule will be interspersed with talks delivered by industry professionals, so that their expertise can complement the research at academic institutions and ultimately lead to a holistic development from Science to Systems and beyond.
IEEE NC-SC Joint Student Chapter
IEEE Nanotechnology Council-Sensors Council Joint Student Chapter organizes events in the field of nanotechnology and sensors throughout the year. The chapter comprises of a large team of motivated students and enthusiastic faculty members who are actively involved in event organization and management. The chapter is advised by Prof. Navakant Bhat, who is also the Chair of Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE) at the Indian Institute of Science. Events such as Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) and Nanotechnology and Sensors Workshop have been conducted in the past, which has attracted numerous participants from all over India.
IEEE Nanotechnology Council
The IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) is a multi-disciplinary group whose purpose is to advance and coordinate work in the field of Nanotechnology carried out throughout the IEEE in scientific, literary and educational areas. The Council supports the theory, design, and development of nanotechnology and its scientific, engineering, and industrial applications. The IEEE Nanotechnology Council (NTC) has professional and student chapters established in several countries. The Bangalore Section Chapter, headed by Dr. Veena S Chakravarthi, has jointly organized the IISc IEEE Nanotechnology Summer School 2018.
The sessions are designed to cater to a broad audience consisting of senior undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs and researchers at the early stages of
their careers, irrespective of their background. If you are interested, please register!
